Not all board up services are the same.

When a home suffers a loss after a fire some windows and doors may be damaged. Firefighters are trained to break windows to vent the smoke within to increase visibility inside. These openings into your home are too much of a risk as looters may try to take advantage.

Some board up companies will just screw boards over the windows leaving holes in your stucco or siding. Looters only need a power tool to make quick work of the boards. We use carriage bolts on the inside of the home that are anchored to a brace of 2x4s. The only way to remove these are by being on the inside of the home.
